Hi Guys,
I would like to check if emails decrypted by PGP are stored encrypted or decrypted in Outlook psts?
- My environment is as follows:
- Symantec Encryption Management Server v3.3
- Symantec Encryption Desktop 10.3
- Outlook 2007/2010 32-Bit
- Windows 7 SP1 32-Bit
Passphrase is set to be not cached.
Current scenerio faced:
In Outlook 2007/2010, incoming email is encrypted - user is prompted to key in passphrase to decrypt email.
Email gets decrypted and user reads emails as per normal. If user quits Outlook, the next time Outlook runs, user will not be prompted for the passphrase again when he/she clicks on the same email irregardless if PGP is running. In this way, are the emails stored decrypted ?
Ideal scenerio I would like to achieve:
In Outlook 2007/2010, incoming email is encrypted - user is prompted to key in passphrase to decrypt email.
Email gets decrypted and user reads emails as per normal. If user quits Outlook, the next time Outlook runs, user will be prompted for the passphrase again when he/she clicks on the same email though it was already decrypted by PGP.
If PGP is not running, then the email message should read as message.pgp and version.txt, or at least the contents should not be readable.
If there's any particular consumer policy to be enabled to achieve the above scenerio, please let me know.
Thank you.
